2. Collection and storage of personal data and the type and purpose of their use

a) When visiting the websites

When you visit our websites, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to he server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is recorded without your intervention and stored until it is automatically deleted:

  • IP address of the requesting computer,

  • Date and time of access,

  • Name and URL of the retrieved file,

  • Website from which access is made (referrer URL, tracking parameters),

  • Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer and the name of your access provider,

  • Destination of the redirect/click-out for billing purposes.

The data mentioned are processed by us for the following purposes:

  • for other administrative purposes,

  • for analysis purposes,

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the data collection purposes listed above. Under no circumstances do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person.

In addition, we use cookies and analytics services when you visit our websites. You can find more detailed explanations in Sections 4 and 5 of this privacy policy.

b) When using our contact form

For quick and direct contact, we offer you the option of contacting us using a form provided on our websites pveu.com and productadvisor.io. It is necessary to provide the name of a contact person, a valid e-mail address, a telephone number, the URL of your web shop, your company name and a description of your request as a comment so that we know who sent the request and can respond to it.

 

Data processing for the purpose of contacting us takes place in accordance with Article 6 Para.1 S. 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your voluntarily given consent. The personal data collected by us for the use of the contact form will be automatically deleted after the request you have made has been dealt with.

  • in the event that there is a legal obligation for the transfer according to Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. c GDPR, as well as

  • this is legally permissible and required for the processing of contractual relationships with you in accordance with Article 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. b GDPR.

4. Web Analytics

Web analytics enables the website operator to record and analyze the use of this website by website visitors. The website operator receives various usage data, such as usage time, page views, time on site, operating systems used or screen resolution used. It is also possible to record whether website visitors carry out certain actions such as clicks or purchases.

a) Cookie-less Tracking

The websites testit.de, Preisvergleich.at, Preisvergleich.ch, Preisvergleich.org, shopping.at, shopping.ch use our own web analytics service. This service does not use personal data. No data is read or stored on the website visitor's device. The website visitor's IP address is anonymized. It is not possible to recognize the website visitor beyond the website. Cookies are not set; any cookies that may be present are technically transferred but are also not used.

The anonymized analytics data is transferred via this server to the web analytics service Google Analytics without using the website visitor's personal data and is usually stored there on a Google server in the USA. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. A profile creation or linking to other sources is not possible with this anonymized analysis data. b) Google Analytics

For the purpose of needs-based design and ongoing optimization of our websites pveu.com, productadvisor.io and preisvergleich.eu, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; hereinafter “Google”).

We use Google Analytics to analyze website usage. The data obtained from this is used to optimize our website and advertising measures.

Google processes the website usage data on our behalf and is contractually obliged to take measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the processed data.

 

During your website visit, the following data, among others, is recorded:

  • Orders including sales and the products ordered

  • Technical information such as browser, internet provider, device and screen resolution

  • Source of origin of your visit (i.e. which website or advertising medium you came to us from)

This data is transferred to Google servers in the USA. We would like to point out that data protection laws in the USA cannot guarantee the same level of protection as within the EU. Personal data such as name, address or contact details are never transferred to Google Analytics.

Google Analytics stores cookies in your web browser for a period of two years since your last visit. These cookies contain a randomly generated user ID that can be used to recognize you on future website visits.

 

The recorded data is stored together with the randomly generated user ID, which enables the evaluation of pseudonymous user profiles. This user-related data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Other data remains stored in aggregated form indefinitely.

 

If you do not agree to the collection, you can prevent it by installing the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics once or by rejecting cookies via our cookie settings dialog.

c) Google Tag Manager

Preisvergleich Europe GmbH uses the tag manager of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Tags are identifiers of data items. Measuring pixels from third-party providers mentioned here are loaded onto the websites. The Tag Manager tool itself (which implements the tags) is a cookieless domain and does not collect any personal data. The tool triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. We use cookies on our websites pveu.com, preisvergleich.eu and productadvisor.io. YouTube

We use the provider YouTube, among others, to embed videos. YouTube is operated by YouTube LLC with its principal place of business at 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. YouTube is represented by Google Inc. based in Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

On some of our websites we use plugins from the provider YouTube. If you call up the Internet pages of our Internet presence provided with such a plugin - for example our media library - a connection to the YouTube servers is established and the plugin is displayed. This transmits to the YouTube server which of our websites you have visited. If you are logged in to YouTube as a member, YouTube assigns this information to your personal user account. When using the plugin, such as clicking the start button of a video, this information is also assigned to your user account. You can prevent this assignment by logging out of your YouTube user account and other user accounts of the companies YouTube LLC and Google Inc. before using our website and deleting the corresponding cookies from the companies.

8. Tools and Miscellaneous

a) Usersnap

We have included a web feedback tool on our websites testit.de, Preisvergleich.at, Preisvergleich.ch, Preisvergleich.org, shopping.at, shopping.ch to enable you to submit your concerns and questions regarding our service in a simple and uncomplicated manner. The tool is operated by Usersnap GmbH, Industriezeile 35, 4020 Linz, Austria.

The data protection regulations of Usersnap GmbH can be viewed here: https://usersnap.com/privacy-policy. Usersnap GmbH transmits the feedback data to us via Austrian servers and, as a company in an EU member state that offers services to EU citizens, is bound by the GDPR.
 

b) Billomat

For more effective management of our customer and billing data, we use the "Billomat" accounting tool from Billomat GmbH & Co. KG. This can result in the processing of personal data within the meaning of Art. 4 Para. 1 GDPR. We have concluded an order processing contract with Billomat. Accounting also represents a legitimate purpose of processing pursuant to Art. 5 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR." through "The processing of data can also be based on a legal obligation pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR or to protect the authorized person interest pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR".

Billomat keeps the data available for a maximum of six months from the date of their creation and automatically deletes the data after the period has expired. The collection, storage and transfer of personal data is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 S.1 lit. b GDPR within the framework of the processing of contractual relationships. Accounting also represents a legitimate purpose of processing in accordance with Article 5 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Order processing takes place in accordance with Article 28 GDPR and the Billomat only processes the data in accordance with the instructions of Preisvergleich Europe GmbH.

The personal data will not be used for any purpose other than accounting. In addition, personal data is only passed on

  • if it is necessary according to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR to assert, exercise or defend legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in not disclosing your data,

  • in the event that there is a legal obligation for the transfer according to Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. c DSGVO

c) Chatbot

In order to be able to offer you personal product advice, it is possible to use the chatbot “productadvisor”. To operate our chatbot, requests are sent via an API (interface) to OpenAI, LL.C.. OpenAI processes this data to improve its services. Please do not share sensitive data such as passwords, credit card numbers or similar via chat. We recommend only asking general questions about products (e.g. which laptop is the best?).

If you use the chatbot, your chat histories will be stored by OpenAI, LL.C.. Your stored data will be used there, among other things, to improve the quality of the service and to tailor it to the individual needs of our users.

c) reCaptcha

We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on our websites pveu.com and productadvisor.io. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). reCAPTCHA is intended to check whether data is entered on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, length of time the website visitor stays on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.

 

The reCAPTCHA analyzes run completely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.

 

Data processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and SPAM.
